A major part of this role includes working with SCADA platforms, with particular focus on Ignition and ICONICS, as well as supporting the integration of SCADA systems with PLCs, RTUs, telemetry outstations and client systems. The role involves regular communication with clients during implementation and after deployment, including supporting queries, troubleshooting issues and helping ensure reliable operation of the delivered SCADA solution.

  • Develop standards and specifications in line with customer requirements.
  • Develop standard libraries and support the production of solutions to improve future project delivery efficiency.
  • Contribute to work breakdown structures, project estimates and delivery plans for assigned SCADA engineering tasks.

Experience

Technical Skills:

  • In‑depth understanding of SCADA system architecture and components.
  • Experience with SCADA software platforms, particularly Ignition and ICONICS.
  • Experience of cloud solutions such as Azure, AWS etc.
  • Understanding of communication protocols commonly used in SCADA systems, such as Modbus, DNP3, OPC, and others.
  • Ability to interpret PLC, RTU and telemetry interfaces and support effective integration between field systems and SCADA applications.
  • Experience in SCADA systems, telemetry, HMI configuration and industrial communications.
  • Automation and PLC experience would be beneficial, with knowledge or practical experience of Bristol Babcock PLCs considered particularly advantageous.
  • Experience of using AI technologies.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Database Manager.
